Unwinding on the Amalfi Coast

When I scrolled through Pinterest years ago, I would always see breathtaking photos of the cliffs of Positano showed up on my feed. I always knew I wanted to see it for myself, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how breathtaking it is in person. Here are the highlights of our trip, which happens to be the home of the best memories we’ve ever made. All photos and video taken by us. I’m still new to the travel content game, but you don’t need much in Italy. It does the work for you.

We knew we wanted to visit the Amalfi coast but didn’t want to be anywhere too crowded. Our goal was to relax and restore. Due to the crowds, we decided to stay in Praiano rather than Positano. Praiano is located halfway between Amalfi and Positano. Unlike many major cities in Italy, there is no direct airport to Positano. You’ll have to fly to Rome or Naples Airports. From there, you’ll make your way to a closer town like Sorrento or Salerno. We prefer a private car, but there are many options. Do your research!! TikTok proved to be the most helpful tool when choosing where to stay, eat, and explore. We loved Praiano and most likely will stay there again next time.

Hotel Il Pino

We stayed at a charming hotel called Hotel Il Pino, nestled with an ocean view. The staff was excellent. The property was located on a huge hill like most of Praiano, so remember that when bringing big roller bags!

Every morning, we woke up to have coffee and breakfast on the terrace. I loved jumping in the pool before heading out for the day.

Che Bontà

Right across the street from us was this tiny little Italian restaurant that I have to tell you about. It was hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had, and I’m a pizza lover. It’s called Che Bonta. Location: Via G Marconi 2A 84010 Praiano Italy. I am still thinking about that pizza.

It was quite challenging to get around, so we opted to rent a scooter for the duration of our stay. There were a few terrifying moments on the winding and steep roads, but we managed to navigate them. Jesse did a great job since he is used to riding a motorcycle, but I still had to say some prayers a few times.

If scootering isn’t your thing, I suggest taking a taxi instead. Our hotel took care of arranging the scooters for us, so be sure to inquire about this service with your hotel.

For scooter rental, we used: M.L. Porter Rent-A-Scooter Tel. +39 089 874

Day trip to Positano

We took the scooter to Positano early to explore. It was absolutely magical. On the way there, we spotted the Instagram famous fruit stand.

Jesse got us frozen lemonades and they were bomb!

We got to meet Salvatore, who was the sweetest soul. He wanted to make sure I shared his Instagram with you. If you’re in the area, he told me to tell you to drop by and give him a kiss. Ha!

Lemons are like the Positano symbol. I loved it.
The shoes had to get swapped out. I’ll be prepared next time. lol

Positano is this dreamy cliffside village on the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy. Think stunning views, colorful buildings cascading down to the sea, and narrow, winding streets filled with boutique shops and cafes.

It’s famous for its laid-back vibe, beautiful beaches like Spiaggia Grande, and all the iconic Instagram spots. We are beach lovers, so we were excited to head down there. I can honestly say Positano is pure magic. See for yourself.

Music: “Amore mio Aiutami” by Piero Piccioni

Jess takes the drone up wherever we go. Crazy to believe, but this is all much more breathtaking in person.

We absolutely loved the beauty in Spiaggia, but it was extremely crowded. We were glad we decided to stay elsewhere. We didn’t do much sightseeing on this trip. We were interested in making the trip more experiential and relaxing.

I will say that Positano is perfect for a day trip or a night out. The amount of stairs and walking was more than I had ever experienced in my life, haha! I got in a lot of steps, which was great, but be prepared to do even more walking than you can imagine.

We rented beach chairs ahead of time and had lunch at L’Incanto. They have the Ocean bar in front of the restaurant where you can reserve chairs. It’s best to reserve online ahead of time as they fill up quickly.

BTW I made a playlist before this trip, and I’m sharing it below 🙂
